Tag, I’m it (and weird)
The fabulous (secret gymnast) Lindsay Olson has tagged me in the Seven Random and Weird Things About Me blog chain; so, here goes:
1. My first paying job was a child actress for the Opryland Hotel production of A Country Christmas. I performed for professional companies until I left for college. I miss it a lot.
2. I can’t eat Cheyenne cayenne pepper and I can’t drink red wine (I know, it’s all very sad).
3. I cover my face so I don’t get sick when I’m on airplanes and people cough or sneeze.
4. I make up songs about everything, especially my dog, usually to the tune of Happy Birthday or the Oscar Myer wiener jingle.
5. I was enrolled at New York University for musical theatre until I visited Auburn for a football game. I was hooked. Mom was happy because AU is a lot cheaper than NYU.
6. When I was five I set the world record for setting off the biggest single-site dynamite blast – we have it on video, but didn’t fill out the forms correctly so we didn’t get in the big book. I’m sure I didn’t describe it correctly either, but my Grampa would LOVE to tell you all about it. Repeatedly.
7. I really, really dislike Elvis. Thank you very much.

Thanks for playing along! I love getting to know more about you! Your number six is very intriguing. So I have to ask? Why at 5 were you into setting off dynamite?
I did it!
Lindsay – thanks for the tag! Ah, number 6. Well, my grampa owns a blasting co in Miami, FL. When I was five he decided it was about time I set off a blast. I did it using one of those plunger things, like in the movies. BUT I was so, so tiny that I couldn’t push the plunger down.
So as I was trying to plunge it, some dude pushed the big red button and it all went boom! BUT if you ask my grampa it was all me. Granny is the one who reminds us of the way it really went down. It was a record setter though – I just had a little help

Conerific – YAY! I’ll go read yours promptly
Miss you!
