I'm 100% with you. It is possibly the worst use of any word ever. It makes no sense grammatically. It also makes the user sound extremely unintelligent.

Aw, Margie!! I so heart the fail blog, http://failblog.org/

I don't know where it originated, either, but I do crack up at many a fail blog submission. Some of them are presumably faked, though, but I still laugh.

I, the novice Tweeter, however, have in my piddly 164-Tweet history, totally refrained from using #fail hash tags (or any variation thereof). Go me! The last thing I'd want is to be perceived as obnoxious by the flack rabbits of the world -- what a Fail that'd be! ;-P

You tell 'em, sister.

Ha! No worries, Robert. I just had to get that off of my chest; I have ALWAYS hated that phrase and I just can't take it anymore! Sweet of you to comment on my blog, by the way. Hope your semester is going well and that your students realize how lucky they are to have you!

Yep, I'm a bit guilty ... as I fessed up to you on Twitter. It is too easy to write/say and truly does lack any real meaning. I hereby pledge to reform and right my path. :o)
