Things I’m grateful for (because I need an attitude check)
So lately I’ve been a tad whiny and I occurs to me I need to take a moment to count my blessings. Here they are:
- Dave Newman
- My health
- A fantastic family with a Momma and Grandparents I see/talk to often
- A career I love
- Hand creams, especially those made with Shea Butter
- Makeup
- Hockey games
- A fabulous Auburn college experience
- Reconnecting with High School friends
- White wine
- Beer
- Cowboy boots
- Not being superstitious
- The worlds best best friend
- Having had a hand in getting books to kids, a smoke-free Tennessee, saving a hockey team and promoting a book festival
- A strong faith
- A warm bed
- A tea cup poodle
- The Internet
- No longer owning Apple stock (because now I don’t have to fret over things that aren’t my business anyway)
- Being tiny
- Having friends, peers and strangers (YOU!) who read this blog everyday and email/message me when they agree or disagree (although you can totally say that those things in the comments if you want to!)
- Having friends, peers and strangers (YOU!) who read and say the kindest things about my Her Nashville columns each month
- John Mayer, Diana Krall and Sara Bareilles
- WMOT Jazz 89 and WPLN Nashville Public Radio
- And finally, socks.
What are you grateful for?

In times like these gratitude will be our life preserver. Just as it was for my parents, members of “The Greatest Generation” who survived the real Depression. Thank you for this post. I have been reading your columns and your March particularly has me interested. Do you coach, mentor train, teach boomers who are tech-skittish?
Hi Leisa, thanks for stopping by Flackrabbit and for sharing your comment. I’m honored that you found some insight in my March column. It was a fun one to write
I was about to say, “not really,” to your question but then realized that I actually do seem to be coaching a lot of boomers. I’d just not thought about it before! I’m always happy to answer and questions folks have about technology and smart usage.
We’re following each other on Twitter now, so feel free to DM me any time. You can also email me at margie (at) flackrabbit (dot) com.
Love your Gratitude list! I learned several years ago to keep a gratitude journal. Also learned to turn the negatives into something to be grateful for. For instance…On a nasty cold and rainy day…I’m grateful that I don’t have to get out in it! Tops on my gratitude list is my very precious, beautiful, tiny, and talented Grandaughter.
Hi Granny! Fancy seeing you here!
You know, I learned that “gratitude listing” trick from you! I hope you have a wonderful day and thanks so much for commenting on my blog! Check the archives cause you and your iPhone pouch are on here several times
Love you!
