Yes! I held a human brain! Held it in my own two itty bitty, purple latex glove coated hands! It was heavier than I expected, dry and SIMPLY AMAZING. I will never think of early childhood brain development the same way again, which was the intended point of me getting to hold a brain now that I think about it.
And I’m not sure why we had to wear PURPLE gloves, but that detail does kind of add to the storytelling weirdness. It was all so unexpected. Although I’m thrilled I’ve held a brain, I am happy to report that I didn’t SMELL it like BH did.
Oddly, it looks much creepier in this photo (that’s Katy holding it) than it did in person.

The fabulous (secret gymnast) Lindsay Olson has tagged me in the Seven Random and Weird Things About Me blog chain; so, here goes:
1. My first paying job was a child actress for the Opryland Hotel production of A Country Christmas. I performed for professional companies until I left for college. I miss it a lot.
2. I can’t eat Cheyenne cayenne pepper and I can’t drink red wine (I know, it’s all very sad).
3. I cover my face so I don’t get sick when I’m on airplanes and people cough or sneeze.
4. I make up songs about everything, especially my dog, usually to the tune of Happy Birthday or the Oscar Myer wiener jingle.
5. I was enrolled at New York University for musical theatre until I visited Auburn for a football game. I was hooked. Mom was happy because AU is a lot cheaper than NYU.
6. When I was five I set the world record for setting off the biggest single-site dynamite blast – we have it on video, but didn’t fill out the forms correctly so we didn’t get in the big book. I’m sure I didn’t describe it correctly either, but my Grampa would LOVE to tell you all about it. Repeatedly.
7. I really, really dislike Elvis. Thank you very much.
